*emulation*, they are also used by virtualization. Rename
as system/ which is clearer.

Via sed "s/ Property [*]/ const Property */".
The opaque pointers passed to ObjectProperty callbacks are
the last instances of non-const Property pointers in the tree.
For the most part, these callbacks only use object_field_prop_ptr,
which now takes a const pointer itself.
This logically should have accompanied d36f165d95 which
allowed const Property to be registered.

pci_devfn properties accept either a string or an integer as input. To
implement this, set_pci_devfn() first tries to visit the option as a
string, and if that fails, it visits it as an integer instead. While the
QemuOpts visitor happens to accept this, it is invalid according to the
visitor interface. QObject input visitors run into an assertion failure
when this is done.
QObject input visitors are used with the JSON syntax version of -device
on the command line:

The proper way to accept both strings and integers is using the
alternate mechanism, which tells us the type of the input before it's
visited. With this information, we can directly visit it as the right
type.
This fixes set_pci_devfn() by using the alternate mechanism.

While adding the new flexible boot order feature on s390x recently,
we missed to add the "loadparm" property to the scsi-hd and scsi-cd
devices. This property is required on s390x to pass the information
to the boot loader about which kernel should be started or whether
the boot menu should be shown. But even more serious: The missing
property is now causing trouble with the corresponding libvirt patches
that assume that the "loadparm" property is either settable for all
bootable devices (when the "boot order" feature is implemented in
QEMU), or none (meaning the behaviour of older QEMUs that only allowed
one "loadparm" at the machine level). To fix this broken situation,
let's implement the "loadparm" property in for the SCSI devices, too.

QAPI's 'prefix' feature can make the connection between enumeration
type and its constants less than obvious. It's best used with
restraint.
CpuS390Entitlement has a 'prefix' to change the generated enumeration
constants' prefix from CPU_S390_ENTITLEMENT to S390_CPU_ENTITLEMENT.
Rename the type to S390CpuEntitlement, so that 'prefix' is not needed.
Likewise change CpuS390Polarization to S390CpuPolarization, and
CpuS390State to S390CpuState.

add the Query Processing Library (QPL) compression method
Introduce the qpl as a new multifd migration compression method, it can
use In-Memory Analytics Accelerator(IAA) to accelerate compression and
decompression, which can not only reduce network bandwidth requirement
but also reduce host compression and decompression CPU overhead.
How to enable qpl compression during migration:
migrate_set_parameter multifd-compression qpl
There is no qpl compression level parameter added since it only supports
level one, users do not need to specify the qpl compression level.

This patch extends the PCIe link speed option so that slots can be
configured as supporting 32GT/s (Gen5) or 64GT/s (Gen5) speeds.

As the comment in qapi/error, passing @errp to error_prepend() requires
ERRP_GUARD():

ERRP_GUARD() could avoid the case when @errp is &error_fatal, the user
can't see this additional information, because exit() happens in
error_setg earlier than information is added [1].
The set_chr() passes @errp to error_prepend() without ERRP_GUARD().
As a PropertyInfo.set method, there are too many possible callers to
check the impact of this defect; it may or may not be harmless. Thus it
is necessary to protect @errp with ERRP_GUARD().
To avoid the issue like [1] said, add missing ERRP_GUARD() at the
beginning of this function.

Introduce a new enum type property allowing to set an
IOMMU granule. Values are 4k, 8k, 16k, 64k and host.
This latter indicates the vIOMMU granule will match
the host page size.
A subsequent patch will add such a property to the
virtio-iommu device.

virtio-blk and virtio-scsi devices will need a way to specify the
mapping between IOThreads and virtqueues. At the moment all virtqueues
are assigned to a single IOThread or the main loop. This single thread
can be a CPU bottleneck, so it is necessary to allow finer-grained
assignment to spread the load.
Introduce DEFINE_PROP_IOTHREAD_VQ_MAPPING_LIST() so devices can take a
parameter that maps virtqueues to IOThreads. The command-line syntax for
this new property is as follows:
--device '{"driver":"foo","iothread-vq-mapping":[{"iothread":"iothread0","vqs":[0,1,2]},...]}'
IOThreads are specified by name and virtqueues are specified by 0-based
index.
It will be common to simply assign virtqueues round-robin across a set
of IOThreads. A convenient syntax that does not require specifying
individual virtqueue indices is available:

The 'name' parameter of QOM setters is primarily used to specify the name
of the currently parsed input element in the visitor interface. For
top-level qdev properties, this is always set and matches 'prop->name'.
However, for list elements it is NULL, because each element of a list
doesn't have a separate name. Passing a non-NULL value runs into
assertion failures in the visitor code.
Therefore, using 'name' in error messages is not right for property
types that are used in lists, because "(null)" (or even a segfault)
isn't very helpful to identify what QEMU is complaining about.
Change netdev properties to use 'prop->name' instead, which will contain
the name of the array property after switching array properties to lists
in the external interface. (This is still not perfect, as it doesn't
identify which element in the list caused the error, but strictly better
than before.)

qemu_uuid_unparse() includes a trailing NUL when writing the uuid
string and the buffer size should be UUID_FMT_LEN + 1 bytes. Add a
define for this size and use it where required.

In this mode, the migrate command saves state to a file, allowing one
to quit qemu, reboot to an updated kernel, and restart an updated version
of qemu. The caller must specify a migration URI that writes to and reads
from a file. Unlike normal mode, the use of certain local storage options
does not block the migration, but the caller must not modify guest block
devices between the quit and restart. To avoid saving guest RAM to the
file, the memory backend must be shared, and the @x-ignore-shared migration
capability must be set. Guest RAM must be non-volatile across reboot, such
as by backing it with a dax device, but this is not enforced. The restarted
qemu arguments must match those used to initially start qemu, plus the
-incoming option.

Create a mode migration parameter that can be used to select alternate
migration algorithms. The default mode is normal, representing the
current migration algorithm, and does not need to be explicitly set.
No functional change until a new mode is added, except that the mode is
shown by the 'info migrate' command.

S390 adds two new SMP levels, drawers and books to the CPU
topology.
S390 CPUs have specific topology features like dedication and
entitlement. These indicate to the guest information on host
vCPU scheduling and help the guest make better scheduling decisions.
Add the new levels to the relevant QAPI structs.
Add all the supported topology levels, dedication and entitlement
as properties to S390 CPUs.
Create machine-common.json so we can later include it in
machine-target.json also.

The 'slew' tick policy is currently enforced to be only available on
x86 via some "#ifdef TARGET_I386" statements in mc146818rtc.c. We
want to get rid of those #ifdefs, so we need a different way of
checking whether the policy is allowed or not. Using the setter
function in hw/core/qdev-properties-system.c seems to be a good
place, so let's add a check here.

PCIDeviceClass and PCIDevice are defined in pci.h. Many users of the
header don't actually need them. Similar structs live in their own
headers: PCIBusClass and PCIBus in pci_bus.h, PCIBridge in
pci_bridge.h, PCIHostBridgeClass and PCIHostState in pci_host.h,
PCIExpressHost in pcie_host.h, and PCIERootPortClass, PCIEPort, and
PCIESlot in pcie_port.h.
Move PCIDeviceClass and PCIDeviceClass to new pci_device.h, along with
the code that needs them. Adjust include directives.
This also enables the next commit.

Commit 012d4c96e2 changed the visitor functions taking Error ** to
return bool instead of void, and the commits following it used the new
return value to simplify error checking. Since then a few more uses
in need of the same treatment crept in. Do that. All pretty
mechanical except for
* balloon_stats_get_all()
This is basically the same transformation commit 012d4c96e2 applied
to the virtual walk example in include/qapi/visitor.h.
* set_max_queue_size()
Additionally replace "goto end of function" by return.

Some network backends (vhost-user and vhost-vdpa) work only with
specific devices. At startup, they second guess what the command line
option handling will do and error out if they think a non-virtio device
will attach to them.
This second guessing is not only ugly, it can lead to wrong error
messages ('-device floppy,netdev=foo' should complain about an unknown
property, not about the wrong kind of network device being attached) and
completely ignores hotplugging.
Add a callback where backends can check compatibility with a device when
it actually tries to attach, even on hotplug.

We need an ability to insert filters above top block node, attached to
block device. It can't be achieved with blockdev-reopen command. So, we
want do it with help of qom-set.
Intended usage:
Assume there is a node A that is attached to some guest device.
1. blockdev-add to create a filter node B that has A as its child.
2. qom-set to change the node attached to the guest device’s
BlockBackend from A to B.

Only softmmu code uses DEFINE_PROP_UUID, and it currently depends
on error_set_from_qdev_prop_error(). Move it to
qdev-properties-system.c to get out of our way when refactoring
the qdev property system.
We can eventually move it back to the core property system later,
after removing usage of error_set_from_qdev_prop_error().
